Have you heard of Clear Correct braces? They're clear plastic aligners that are worn over your teeth to straighten them. You can take them out to clean your teeth and eat. Most people won't notice that you are wearing them!
When a tooth or teeth are missing they can be replaced with dental implants. Dr. Patterson has had extensive training through the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and can provide in-house implants start to finish, without the need to refer patients to a specialist in most cases.
Crowns, Veneers and Bridges
When teeth are badly broken or have a root canal they will need a dental crown. Dental crowns look just like teeth! They completely encircle the tooth acting like a helmet to strengthen and protect the remaining tooth structure.
Veneers are thin coverings of porcelain used to improve the aesthetics of teeth by changing the shape and colour.
A bridge replaces a missing tooth or teeth, avoiding potential problems in the future.
Impression-less crowns, bridges, veneers and night guards with the Cerec OmniCam
No more goopy or gaggy impressions! With our Cerec OmniCam we simply scan your teeth and the data generates a 3D model, which is sent electronically to our dental lab. Ask Justin's partner Katie - she chose this procedure to make her beloved night guard!
If your gums start to recede they may to worsen over time if there isn't adequate gum tissue to act as a barrier from disease and bone loss. If your gums are thin or have receded to the extent that your tooth roots are exposed, we may recommend gum grafting treatment. The purpose is to increase the amount of attached gum tissue around teeth to reduce the risk of serious problems in the future. This procedure can also enhance the appearance of teeth and treat tooth sensitivity.
for root canals
With our endodontic microscope we are able to confidently and safely complete many complex root canals. Magnification allows the visibility of even the tiniest details in the tooth’s structure, some of which are not visible with the naked eye. We are able to find and diagnose cracks and other fractures that could compromise a tooth’s strength.
If the cause of your dental pain is serious decay or infection in the nerve tissue of a tooth, we may recommend a root canal. A root canal is a procedure that involves removing the infected nerve tissue from inside a tooth, and sealing it to protect against future infection. The procedure allows you to keep a tooth instead of extracting it. With the help of our dental microscope we are able to complete this type of treatment to a very high standard and on teeth that have difficult anatomy. Many people are worried about root canals - let's talk about how to make this easier for you!
When a tooth is fractured, or decay goes below the gum line, the bone and gum need to be reduced in order to fix the tooth and place a filling or crown. Did you know that in order for the gum to heal there must be 3 millimeters between the filling or crown and the top of the jaw bone? We'll help you with that 3mm!
